Well the heat really came down this week in the Northern Rivers. Record breaking temperatures for late August and a shedding of the layers of warm gear. Beautiful beach weather lead Zion down to Hastings Point for a day on the beach. Beautiful crystal water and clear blue sky and Oca's company. His mum came down too to join Zion and his friend/carer Tess for some fun in the sun, fish and chips and a spot of seasonal whale watching. There are still a lot of whales going north, but some are coming back now with their babies.
The usual jaunt to the Farmers Market resulted in some more fresh produce on Tuesday at New Brighton. Coffee and chats and hugs had by all.
Wednesday was back to working on his special drama project about the local surfing culture, Zion took the lead guiding everyone through meditation, yoga and movement exercises. These sessions not only bring energy to the group but will also play a part in the final production, adding a unique touch that only Zion can provide.
After enjoying a blustery lunch, the group decided to mix it up a bit and walk the Brunswick footbridge taking in the vibrant graffiti mural art that adorns the local area, a testament to the creative spirit that runs through Brunswick Heads. Whale watching can also still done from the Brunswick wall and main beach.
Zion’s life is a beautiful blend of routine and creativity, surrounded by a community that values and celebrates him. Whether he’s leading a yoga session, sharing a laugh over lunch, or picking out a present for a friend, Zion’s days are filled with joy, connection, hugs and purpose. His journey in the drama group is just one of the many ways he expresses his vibrant personality, and as the year progresses, we can’t wait to see how his unique touch will light up the stage.
