An inspiring gallery of work from wonderful artist Zion Levy Stewart. Ceramic pieces include his original and delightful portrait pots that are useful as well as a work of art. He also has plates, bowls, pots and boxes featuring wild animals, fish, and birds. His fish plates are sometimes shaped like fish and then painted in vivid colours.
Zion gets inspiration for his gallery of paintings from all kinds of sources. He loves to paint his friends and all he needs is a photograph and off he goes sketching in the details and then painting it up. Paradise is a busy place with lots of visitors and friends chatting about every subject imaginable. Zion captures this joy in his paintings of people and couples. He also gets out and about with his carer friends and goes to the gym to keep fit so is therefore keen to paint this.
The Northern rivers region attracts a lot of tourists and has a vibrant cafe culture which means they have a host of different cafes to stop at along the way so many of his paintings feature cafes that they visit for morning tea and lunch. Zion loves fish and chips at Brunswick Heads, the fishing boats cruise in and out and were the inspiration for two of his pieces, the fishing boats at Midnight plate and fishing boats painting. Lately he has taken to drawing and painting other famous artists and looking at their work. Matisse, Rousseau, Picasso, Frida Kahlo, and Diego Rivera to name a few.
